Enjoy three Latin folktales presented in Spanish with English subtitles.

Folktales evolved over the centuries from storytelling. The oral tradition offered entertainment and recounted history while teaching morals and social values of a culture.

Episode# 1 is an adaptation of Cancion del Armadillo (The Song of the Armadillo). This is a traditional folk tale from Bolivia about an armadillo that wants to be able to make beautiful music.  Retold as Cancion del Cocodrilo (The Song of the Crocodile), this adaptation is about a crocodile who loved music and had a dream to sing one day. The moral of this story is that when you have such a strong passion for something or a goal, you set out to accomplish it, no matter what!

Episode #2 is an adaptation of La Cigarra y la Hormiga (The Cicada and the Ant) by author José Luis García. Retold as El Leon y la Rana (The Lion and the Frog), this folk tale talks about the work-life balance and the virtues of hard work and planning for the future.

Episode#3 is EL Burro Valiente (The Brave Donkey). This is a folk tale about a donkey who wanted to see the world, but was too afraid to leave what he already knew. He finally learned being afraid is okay if you have friends and family to help you overcome your fears.
