Thursday morning, at about 10am, Dasic Fernandez, world re-known mural artist, began a large scale mural on the concrete portion of the east facing wall of the Ritz Theater. This mural, entitled Transcendence, will be the first of five in the Newburgh Mural Project’s Life in Colors series. The Newburgh Mural Project is a collaboration of Newburgh non-profits and community members. Dasic will be working on a lift to reach the top of the 61’ wall. We hope you all have a chance to see him work. He is scheduled to have the mural completed in one week!! We will reveal the mural and celebrate its completion at the Community Clean up BBQ celebration on Saturday, May 12. The Newburgh Hip Hop Festival will kick off the same day and will provide the entertainment after the clean up.
