In celebration of Earth Day and to inspire the community to help keep Newburgh clean and green, Safe Harbors of the Hudson is joining with the Newburgh community partners listed below for the City’s second annual Community Clean Up on Saturday, May 12. This is an opportunity for community members, young and old, to be a part of what’s great in the City of Newburgh. The cleanup will be held from 9:00 am-1:00 pm and a post-cleanup celebration will be held from 1:00-3:00 pm.
The cleanup efforts will cover the city from Clinton Street to Renwick Street and from Downing Park east to Colden Street. Safe Harbors is seeking cleanup participants of all ages. Children under the age of 12 must be accompanied by an adult. Participants should arrive no later than 8:30 am to the Broadway/Liberty Street Lot, adjacent to the Ritz Theater. Supplies will be provided to participants and Safe Harbors is seeking sponsors to donate items such as heavy duty trash bags and work gloves.
For more information about the event or to get involved, contact June Henley at (845) 562-6940 ext. 110 or .
